How do you deal with imposter syndrome especially as a teacher? What if there are students in your class who are closer to your “level” and are less receptive to feedback?

If students are in my class, I assume they are asking for feedback. Use neutral language to give feedback during class. Think of the feedback like a scientific observation. “I noticed that your arms moving more than your body during outs and ins.” Then, give a gentle suggestion. “You might try thinking of outs and ins…” Be careful not to use absolutist language with these students. Moveover, continually seek out ways to improve your own dancing and bring this information to other more experienced dancers in your scene.
